Librari-Con 2011

August 31st, 2011

It’s here! Librari-con 2011 is just around the corner and you’ll find us volunteering again this year. Luckily, we survived last year’s commute and won’t have to fight any hurricanes this time.

Librari-con is a small, free, one-day convention in Fayetteville, NC. This year it will be from 10am-5pm on September 3, 2011. Librari-con is “an annual anime mini convention featuring anime viewing, panels and forums, Artists Alley, Chibi Corner, Manga Lounge, Cosplay Runway, and more” (from their website). If you are in the area or feel like driving, then drop in and say hi.
More information about Librari-con can be found here -> http://www.cumberland.lib.nc.us/teen/Libraricon/teens-Librari-Con2011.html

If you’re interested in carpooling, contact mtkolbas@ncsu.edu and we’ll see if we can work something out.

Otakon will also be holding a Matsuri on Thursday, from noon-6pm. Take a look.

UPDATE: SRPE will be helping out at the Matsuri, so be sure stop by and take it easy before the con.

Keep enjoying those summer seasons, and we’ll hope to see you there!

Anime USA 2010

November 7th, 2010

By now, you’ve hopefully recovered from the back to back Bento Picnic and International Festival. Well, don’t settle just yet. It’s time to stager out of dormancy, hunger renewed, and fall upon the cornucopia that is Anime USA. Our winter has not yet arrived! We will preserve our jucy days! And with what better way, than Anime USA.

Wait, what’s AnimeUSA?

AUSA is another anime convention which is held in Arlington, Virgina. This convention is a reasonable size and is run “by fans, for fans” so it tends to provide an easy going atmosphere. Unlike at our local convention, Animazement, many of us aren’t volunteering, so we’ll be taking it easy and having fun for most of the con. If you’re interested, it’s being held next weekend, November 11th-12th, and details can be found on their site: www.animeusa.org

If you’re planning on attending and want to meet up with SRPE then just contact us by e-mail before hand and we’ll work on coordinating something.
